Consisting of 84 separate drawings on square matt black linen paper, a graphic image of a rising sun exists on the edge of visibility. The dark grey of the graphite is only clearly visibly when the viewer is at the correct angle to a light source. As the separate drawings are all different it is never possible to see the rising sun completely, instead only partial glimpses are afforded. The whole image must be constructed in the mind of the viewer.
