The origin for this work is a double page magazine advert from 1984 for the american Jeep vehicle. The advert is blown up and altered for the spacial definitions of the glass vitrine, allowing the space to contribute to the work's physical realisation. The image becomes an object, outside of its initially designated purpose 30 years ago, it is now a form of meta image - the connection to the genesis image is lost and the work gains a new level of interpretation and appreciation. |
